Dan SIMONIS & The West Texas MillionairesDan Simonis of the West Texas Millionaires joins Stevie Nicks, Jeff Bridges and John Fogerty at American Thunder Music Festival at Legendary Sturgis, Buffalo Chip August 11, 2011All-Star Concert was held to Benefit the Bob Woodruff Foundation, in Celebration of the Men and Women of the United States Military and Their FamiliesSTURGIS, SD - The first annual American Thunder Music Festival added Bisbee Az artist Dan Simonis of the West Texas Millionaires to a bill that included Jeff Bridges, Stevie Nicks and John Fogerty. The all-star concert took place on Thursday, August 11th, at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. Dan who was third on the evenings lineup performed for a crowd of over 50,000 fans following Jeff Bridges and Stevie Nicks who was nearly blow from the stage during a violent wind and lightning storm. I had the choice of going out there or not and I was definitely doing it!says Dan. It was wonderful to join Jeff Bridges and Friends for this show in support of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Helping others is a big part of being a musician says Dan who co founded the annual Rock For Rehab event which benefits Cochise Countys Verhelst Recovery Center. The Bob Woodruff Foundation is doing important work. With so many service men and women returning from the battle field, its critical that we honor their service by helping them return to their local communities, said Bob Woodruff, ABC News Anchor, and Co-Founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Because there are people like Jeff Bridges, Stevie Nicks and John Fogerty who lend their distinctive voices to this cause, I have no doubt our fellow Americans will help us say thank you to those who serve.Funds raised at American Thunder will benefit the Bob Woodruff Foundation that invests in programs that connect troops to the services they need, including physical rehabilitation and counseling, education, employment and financial assistance, as well as help with larger issues like homelessness and suicide.About:THE BOB WOODRUFF FOUNDATION:The Bob Woodruff Foundation provides resources and support to service members, veterans and their families to successfully reintegrate into their communities so they may thrive physically, psychologically, socially and economically. Through a public education movement called ReMIND.org, the Bob Woodruff Foundation helps educate the public about the needs of service members returning from war -- especially the 1 in 5 service members with hidden injuries such as Traumatic Brain Injury and Combat Stress, including Post Traumatic Stress, Depression and Anxiety -- and empowers communities nationwide to take action. To date, the Bob Woodruff Foundation has invested over $9.5 million, reaching more than 1,000,000 service members, support personnel, veterans and their families nationwide.
